–

Leadership Dothan is more than a professional development course – it’s a transformative, nine-month journey designed to deepen your connection to the Dothan area while preparing you to lead with purpose and impact. Approximately 40 individuals are selected for each class based on demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and a commitment to personal and professional growth.

Leadership Dothan is a highly interactive and rewarding program that offers participants the opportunity to explore the Wiregrass region’s most pressing issues, as well as the resources, challenges, and opportunities that are shaping its future. Through meaningful conversations, participants are encouraged to reflect on their own values and beliefs, gaining deeper personal insight. The program also fosters strong connections and networks among a diverse group of leaders, each bringing unique perspectives and experiences to the table.

Program Expectations:

Participants must attend eight full-day sessions, typically held on the third Thursday of each month from 8am-5pm. Participation in both the two-day Opening Retreat on September 16-17, 2026, and the Joint Leadership Luncheon with our Youth Leadership class on February 10, 2027, is required. If you are unable to attend either of these important events, we kindly ask that you consider applying in a future year when your schedule allows. Attendance is critical, and no more than 18 hours of excused absences are allowed. Any missed sessions must be made up with a future class in order to graduate.

Make a Difference:

Each class undertakes a collaborative community project aimed at addressing a real and relevant local need. These projects not only create lasting impact – they also strengthen teamwork, leadership, and civic engagement skills. Participation outside regular class hours is expected.

Tuition & Scholarships:

Tuition is $1,000 for Chamber members and $1,500 for non-members. This covers all meals, transportation, and materials. A limited number of partial, need-based scholarships are available to ensure accessibility for qualified applicants. Scholarship requests must be submitted along with a completed application.

ApPLICATIONS Are CURRENTLY CLOSED.
